Who is Bhagyashree Holistic Astrology?

Bhagyashree is an Indian jyotishi based in Dehradun who practices a new method called 'holistic astrology.' This method underscores orthodox vedic astrology in its simplest form and blends it with spiritual and esoteric wisdom from enlightened masters. Bhagyashree is known as an ardent devotee of Ma Kali and is a follower of Shree Swami Samarth, Shirdi Sai Baba and Dattavatars. However, many masters have helped her throughout her journey in this life.

Holistic Astrology was introduced to the world in December 2019 and has developed a keen following of enlightened beings who have experienced divine grace and a solution to all their life troubles via timely transit videos and deep video essays on nakshatras, rashis and other important aspects of astrology.

Early Life

Bhagyashree was born as Neha in the beautiful deva-bhumi of Uttarakhand. She grew up in the Shivalik ranges which has been a playground for many spiritual masters and houses some of the best educational institutions in the country.

She was an avid reader since the very beginning and a bhakt of Ma Kali and Mahadev Shiv, which is a tradition passed down by her family. Another such tradition was to use knowledge to alleviate the worries of the world. While it seemed interesting, Bhagyashree wanted to carve out her own path.

Continuing her studies in astrology and meticulously keeping records, she went on to become a popular figure in the Dehradun school circles- topped classes and won debates competitions while managing the student council.

After completing his ISC (Class 12th), she was asked to prepare for civil services exams which she refused. Stunning her family and entire peer group, she declared that she dreams of becoming a media entrepreneur instead - a pipe dream for an average middle class family from a small town.

She studies Journalism and Mass Communication in Delhi and came back to start her own outsourcing company which ran successfully between 2011 and 2022.

Looking back at her early life, she states that her childhood years were uneventful as she lived under strict guidance of her family. She had no interest in playing or visiting cafes like girls her age and instead spent time in reading, watching Discovery Channel and some cartoons. She still says that she prefers animation over live action and loves anime.

Discomfort with the name Neha

Bhagyashree often stated since her childhood that she is not comfortable with her given name as it does not suit her personality, her vision and mission for life.

"It was like wearing someone else's clothes. They didn't fit and I didn't like the color," said Bhagyashree in one of her live sessions with followers. She said that she always knew that the life she was living till 28 was merely a facade and the real self will come out after that. However, she said that she didn't know at the time that it would turn out to be this. A voice in her head constantly mentioned- "it's all till 28," and "wait till 28."

A death anniversary became Bhagyashree's birth anniversary

As she was raised by her grandparents, Bhagyashree was devastated after the death of her grandmother in 2012 and her grandfather in 2017. While she continued to work, she said that there was a "great void" in her heart and she wanted it to be filled somehow.

During this time, while she was studying astrology, numerology and tarot alongside numerous other divination techniques, she was busy doing her personal sadhana for Ma Kali. She claims that her biggest strength is her meticulous note keeping.

She said multiple times that she didn't intend to start a YouTube channel. Instead, she wanted to study astrology for years and publish a book under the name "anonymous" when she is in her 60s.

However, towards the end of 2019, she started having multiple visions and dreams which asked her "now it's time." She did not understand what exactly it was the time for. But at this moment, her mother suggested that she start a channel of her own. Her younger brother also supported.

After much contemplation, on the day of her grandfather's death anniversary (December 5, 2019), she was feeling uneasy and "the void" came back. To avoid it, she picked up her phone and recorded her first video and started the YouTube channel Bhagyashree Holistic Astrology. She later went on to start "Bhagyashree Living" to propogate holistic living principles and to provide practical life guidance and "Bhagyashree Dharma" to touch upon various religious and spiritual disciplines.

The channel immediately caught the attention of astrology enthusiasts who loved her simple style of narration. Most people commented that they were attracted to her innocence and maturity at a young age and deemed her a great master who had quickly studied astrology in great depth. However, Bhagyashree always maintains that its the love of her followers that makes her appear so. In reality, she considers herself a beginner who has barely scratched the surface.

A unique style of astrology and the name "Bhagyashree"

She says that the name "Bhagyashree" appeared out of nowhere to her. On the day when she started her YouTube channel, she wondered if she should call it "Neha's Astrology" but it didn't excite her in the slightest. It sounded foreign, borrowed and inauthentic. Right then, as if a divine inspiration guided her, she found the name Bhagyashree. It was beautiful, resplendent and signified light and abundance- two founding principles of her style.

She also wanted the world to know that she is doing something different and there appeared another term "Holistic." This divine sound she heard in her mind was enough to help her give the channel a new name "Bhagyashree Holistic Astrology," a channel that gives a complete, well rounded and connected (to spiritual paths) view of the divine light using astrological principles.

The channel features multiple indepth videos of astrological concepts which are peppered with smiles and gentle guidance towards the divine light. Bhagyashree has frequently stated that despite her presence in the world of YouTube, she is strictly against the use of unnecessary superlatives and sensationalization.

She says that good karma can minimize evil effects of planets while a polluted mind will enhance their evil effects. Similarly a positive and faithful mind will enhance its blessings.

Why doesn't Bhagyashree wear beads or gemstones?

Bhagyashree is not against the use of gemstones or mala beads. However, she suggests that she is not going to wear them just for show.

"A spiritual person's presence is stronger than the symbols he/she wears. I would not wear anything to impress people and to gain their approval. What dwells in my heart is the light of the Sadashiv and Shakti and it will never go out."

In terms of gemstones, she claims that they should be used in conjunction with other remedies instead of quick solutions for problems of the material world. She only recommends remedies that can be done easily by the native given their circumstances.

Who are the gurus of Bhagyashree Holistic Astrology?

Bhagyashree's first strong spiritual impression came via Swami Vivekananda and later his guru Shri Ramkrishna Paramhansa and Sri Ma Sarada Devi. She used to visit the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama in Dehradun as a school student and read Swami Vivekananda's work ceaselessly.

Later, she was introduced to Shri Paramahanda Yogananda, Lahiri Mahashay, Mahavatar Babaji and Ma Anandmayi in quick succession.

Her introduction to Ma Anandmayi is particularly interesting. She once received a dream where she was to name the newborn girl of a a very poor couple who had come looking for her from far away. She bowed down and whispered in her ear "Nirmala"

This vision appeared to her multiple times along with random pictures of Ma Anandmayi. She was surprised to learn that Ma's birth name was Nirmala.

Bhagyashree is an ardent devotee of Ma Kali and Mahadev Shiv.

She was later introduced to the Datta Sampradaya via Shirdi Sai Baba. Once while in Bangalore, she automatically rose up and said "we are going to Shirdi." Surprised, her friend asked her how she got this inspiration so suddenly.

Bhagyashree said she doesn't know but they have to go. She was at Shirdi the very next day and was teary eyed when leaving. Baba left a deep impression on her. She was then sent visions of Shri Swami Samarth and in the same week, she was almost miraculously sent to the Shankar Maharaj Math in Pune where she had a great and life changing interaction with him and Swami Samarth.

The future of Bhagyashree Holistic Astrology

Bhagyashree plans on taking her mission of holistic astrology and living further. She eventually wants to connect with more like minded people across the globe and help them achieve their true spiritual potential.

She intends to write books on holistic living and a complete treatise on Holistic Astrology.

A grand vision would be to have her own sthan in both Uttarakhand and Maharashtra from where she can get together with her spiritual family and contribute to material and spiritual development of people.

She is specially interested in providing abundant scholarships to meritorious students and start an art fellowship so budding artists don't feel the need to give up on their dreams for lack of money.
